Hey all, so I have two cats [brother and sister, 2.5 years old] who I love dearly. They get along really well; they sleep, cuddle, and play together. Both very friendly and affectionate, I'm lucky!
However, the male cat is incredibly needy, to the point where it's hard for me to focus on work. I work from home a lot, and whenever I'm at my computer he jumps up on my desk or on top of the computer case, and sometimes steps on the power button turning off my computer in the middle of work. Or, he gets up in my face and demands attention.
I've tried a spray bottle, telling him no, moving him with no emotional reaction... he *always* gets back up in my space and doesn't seem content to just be in the room with me. If I put him in the nearby bedroom, he cries and scratches at the door for hours.
Whenever I'm not working he's next to me or on my lap, which is great, but he just never gets enough attention it seems. Any suggestions? I love him to pieces but it's to the point where I sometimes avoid work out of stress of handling his neediness.
