I just got a new kitten. She's very shy and immediately ran under my bed. I had heard that you should set aside a room for new cats since the whole ordeal can be very overwhelming. So far, I've moved her food and litter box into my bedroom. I'm just not sure if a bedroom would be a good choice for a safe room, but it's probably the quietest room in my apartment. The bathroom has thin walls where you can hear people passing by and the living room/kitchen is far too big and would completely overwhelm her. I don't want to scare her though with my presence as I'll obviously be sleeping here and what not for extended periods of time, and I know her having things to hide under can really hurt the 'bonding time'. I would just hate to move her right now, but if it would be better in the long run to set up a safe room elsewhere, I would. Any thoughts?
