Can Cats Climb Down on Their Own from High Places?

We have a cat outdoors that was born in our garden. Out of the 3 litter babies, she's the most clumsiest and naughtiest. When they were very small, she's the one often getting injured or gutsy enough to do the bravest thing out of all of them. Even when she plays she doesn't focus. She can bang into things, throws herself into thorns and do risky things just to get to the toy. The kittens grew up and now only this female is still in our garden. She's almost 1 year old and she's also pregnant for the first time (less than 4 weeks away from supposedly having her babies). Everyone in the family grew to like her a lot.

We started doing construction work to add a 3rd floor to our house so lots and lots of workers come everyday. They've set up these wooden panels all around the house to build that extends from the garden all the way to the roof (quite high). This little nut case disappears in the morning when the workers are here but in the afternoon she comes back to eat and sleep.

Now she discovered a new hobby. She constantly climbs these wooden panels (not sure what they call them) all the way to the ceiling. She loves climbing trees in general and loves to catch birds. I found her many times at the VERY VERY top and it scares the HELL OUT OF ME. I literally stand there shivering and paralyzed not knowing what to do. Eventually I wind up going to the ceiling calling her, and then taking her with me inside the house and back to the garden- only for her to climb back up again.

When I don't help her, she keeps going back and forth meowing asking for help. It breaks my heart. I really don't know what to do. My family already branded me the crazy cat woman and I'm pretty sure the neighbors also think I'm not sane. I just can't help it. I worry about this cat so much and I don't know what to do. I even keep having nightmares at night with her stuck on the roof and the workers coming and she doesn't know how to get down.

She tried a few times to go down with her head first instead of her bottom and it scares the shit out of me. I end up yelling to make her stop. My family thinks I'm overreacting and that cats can handle themselves.

I guess I'm writing this to get some kind of reassurance cuz I feel so restless right now. We found her walking inside our house (she found a way in) and I took her back to the garden and fed her her favorite treats. But when I went to check on her (for the 50th time) I discovered she's not in her outdoor house or bed which means she's back at it and climbing again. I'm so tired of this. I don't know what to do.

Can she really know how to get back down on her own? Am I overreacting? Does anyone have a similar experience?

Note: I cannot take this cat to a shelter because I don't trust the ones in our area. They're also fully booked. I also can't take her in due to allergies and other restrictions.
