I have three cats and they all have their claws cut every 2 weeks. Two of the cat's claws cut as expected, but little Spooky's claws have always been very brittle. He usually has about half his claws broken off when it's time to cut them. Today I went to trim and his nails were even worse than usual. When I cut them they didn't slice- they crumbled into pieces. I would guess that he's just shedding his claws or something, but I do want to make sure that it wouldn't be some kind of deficiency.
They're all indoor cats, but he's much more active than the other two. He scratches a cardboard scratching post regularly. They all eat the same diet. He was hand raised/bottle fed, but has been healthy at each checkup. He's 2years old this month.
