Does anybody have a cat and a dog in an apartment? Does it work well?

So I've currently got a 2-year-old Ragdoll cat who's super chill and loves people. He's very playful and rambunctious when he's not snoozing.

I've wanted a dog forever, but I live in a one-bedroom apartment currently (single working male). Is it viable for me to get a dog as well, or should I hold off?

I'd love to hear your experiences.
