My two cats won’t stop fighting!! Help!

I found my standard male tabby (Calvin) on the side of the road when he was very young and absolutely fell in love with cats. I’d never had a cat before, so it was a great experience. A few months later I started looking around at shelters for a second addition to play with him when I’m away! I looked for a few weeks and found a 4-6 year old Persian (Queenie) she was super sweet and even a little playful so we couldn’t say no. She had been in the shelter for a while so her fur was VERY matted, but I had to wait until her rabies vaccination came in the mail. So I ended up waiting about a week and a half before getting her shaved down. Calvin and queenie got along fairly decently for this week and a half! They would eat together and even play a little. So the day comes for her groom. When she comes home she is VERY small with all of the fur shaved off. So nothing was bad for the first day but then I noticed Calvin chasing queenie which was concerning so I have her a spot to hide in. She began spending her whole day in there, barely coming out. Calvin would stalk her like prey, if she would come out of her spot he would pounce on her and chase. I ended up separating them after about a week. Queenie spends 100% of her time in our bedroom. It makes me feel guilty but she seems fairly happy. I just need advise on maybe getting them to get along again. It all started when Queenie was shaved down. They’ve had minimal contact over the past few months. Any advise would be great! (PS Queenie is almost to full fluffy level again so I will try to reintroduce.
