Indoor/outdoor cat poops in the bed at night.

Hello! Me and my girlfriend have a cat that we both absolutely love. He is a two year old neutered male. When we first got him he used a litterbox and it went well. About a year ago he started going outside for most of the day and slept inside at night so we figured we could remove the litterbox since he did his business outside. Then we started to find poop and sometimes urine in the bed. The first solution was to put garbage bags over the bed to limit the damages but he kept going. We even caught him in the act a couple of times and scolded him but it gave no results, he was determined.

Then winter came and we introduced the litterbox again (We live in Norway and it gets really cold to he will stay inside large parts of the day). Everything was back to normal and he used the box. Fast forward to this week and the weather is really nice and he stays outside most of the day so we tried to remove the litterbox again and we of course found a blast from the past in the bed again. Anyone got any advice for this?

Okay, so i have to clear a few things up first:

The reason we don't want to use the litterbox is that he does not cover his poops, he just lets them sit on top and the smell is awful!

He sleeps in the guestroom and do not like being alone at night or locked in a room. We tried having him in the livingroom at night and it went fine, but out bedroom door is connected to the livingroom and he will scratch and scream at our door until he gets a reaction.

Now that it's summer he can stay outside all night (It rained this night though, so we kept him in), but as mentioned earlier he does not like being alone and will come to our bedroom window which is slightly opened and howl at us until we let him in.
