I got my 10 m/o Olde English Sheepdog spayed yesterday. I picked her up this morning and when I brought her home she was obviously miserable with her cone of shame (e collar). She would take a few steps then sit and would only walk if I called her. She also gained aggression towards my two smaller male dogs who are both fixed. I know that’s normal. However, I’ve had so many dogs in my lifetime, males and females ALL neutered & spayed, but I’ve never had one act like her. I got home from school and her e collar was off. I freaked out and checked her stitches, they were okay so I figured it’s whatever and I’ll put the E Collar back on if she shows any sign of trying to touch it. She was a little clingy so I let her follow me around the house, I curiously sat on the floor to see if she wanted love and she circled around me multiple times & then tried to position herself into my lap (she’s too big but I know she was trying to not hurt her wound by getting comfortable around it). Anyways, so she started to attack herself IN my lap, like I had to physically force her head back as I made my brother rush for the e collar, she snapped at my arm and quickly released before even really grabbing onto my arm (she’s never snapped at me ever). She took a nap and I was hoping she’d act a little more normal when she woke up. She had a puppy dream, scared herself, & peed where she laid. Now she’s being even worse than before. She keeps having random fits of getting scared by seemingly nothing and she’ll start jumping and running as if she’s a bronco but she’ll hit things with her E collar and scare herself more. She also has started to snap at my other dogs for even making a sound. I have a video of her from earlier where she heard my other dog scratch at the door and she turned around and tried to bite both of them (she wasn’t even looking at them). Now usually she isn’t allowed on my bed because she tends to get very dirty, but it seems to be the only way to calm her down right now although she does still keep waking up randomly and immediately getting up & running/bucking. Is all of this normal??
