Please bear with me while I tell you the back story.
My cousin's dog gave birth to 6 puppies and within those 2 months the puppies stayed at home with them inside their house. They were a family of 7, so lots of people + 7 dogs/puppies. My cousin gave me one of those puppies (named him Fluffy) as a gift for my birthday. We are a small family and its always quiet in our house plus we dont have pets.
I never had a pet in my life, fyi. So i bring him home last night and planned to set him up in my patio, separating him with just a glass door where he can literally see us inside (my sister is afraid of dogs so that's the original idea) but everytime I go inside the house or just generally leave him alone he would cry. So i took him inside and he wouldnt sleep unless he's near people (literally would cry if he's not touching my leg). We are a small family, so its generally always quiet in our house, contrary to my cousin's house.
I originally was planning to buy him a big cage (and fill it up with soft stuff and toys) so that he can have his designated 'bed room' at night and then in the morning i plan to just set him free in the patio to run and play.
And now it is 6am and i just set him in the front porch (it is spacious) and he would just sit in front of the door and cry. (Loudly when we walk past the door) What do I do? Help please.
I want to teach him to be independent but i think back in my cousins house he would just ALWAYS be beside the people (literally) and dogs and now he's afraid of being left alone.
