our cat suddenly despises my brother??

first time poster, on mobile so forgive the formatting and any errors. and sorry if this is the wrong place for this, i have very little reddit experience :")

we adopted our cat aggie (and her brother, who we have no issues with) around 3 years ago. they came from a hoarding situation. aggie is a huge weirdo but in a good way, she's very quirky and lovey. she's my brother's favorite of the two and they got along just fine.

my brother goes to school and lives upstate and comes home for a couple days every two weeks or so. aggie didn't seem to mind this and treated him like normal when he came home...at first. however, in the last year or so she's begun hissing at my brother, biting him, and attacking his legs. the last two aren't playful behavior, we know what that looks like for her. she slinks around him and avoids him when he's in the room, instead of trotting up to him yowling and chirping like she normally does. she HATES him and his presence stresses her out. she doesn't act like this towards anyone else.

we thought maybe it was the distance, but aggie didn't act like this at first, and she loves my aunt who comes over infrequently. then we thought she hates men, but she's totally friendly with my dad and my one guy friend when he comes over, which is also pretty infrequent.

my brother would never do anything to hurt her, and he swears he didn't accidentally do something. he's usually very good with animals and especially loves cats so i believe him. he loves aggie so much and we can tell her behavior really hurts his feelings...we can't understand it. any ideas? ways to fix this?

(.........a Huge shot in the dark but my brother has some pretry bad foot odor that we're trying to tactfully bring up with him, and i can't help but wonder if that might be part of the problem......cats do have sensitive noses?? idk)
