Cat refuses to eat, cannot afford vet visit

I previously had two cats that my roommate decided to get before ditching me and leaving me with the apartment. I've since gotten used to them and they've never had any problems. My coworker approaches me one day and asks me if I can take in another cat, it was his fathers cat and his father had just passed away and the cat needed a new home. According to him they simply didn't want the cat because they're prefer dogs and don't wish to keep it. The cat is 1-2 years old (young) so I figure why the hell not, three cats isn't much different from two.

When I first got the cat it's fur mas matted and it refused to eat. I brushed its fur and bathed it but that didn't help. It's fur only cleaned up by itself after a while so I assume it was a dietary issue and it just wasn't being taken care of. The first few days the cat got along with my cats fine but its behavior became progressively worse. I eventually had to separate them since they refused to even see each other. I'd keep my older two cats outside my bedroom to roam the apartment and the new one would stay in my room.

Over time it's behavior became worse yet. It would purr and rub up against my legs and enjoy being pet like a normal cat but would have occasional mood swings. At some point a stray cat started visiting my apartment and sit by window outside and my new cat would scream bloody murder any time it saw it, like a human scream that it shouldn't be able to produce. If I ever attempted to distract it or move it or anything at all it would scream and his at me instead.

After that it developed a habit of never leaving my closet and even defecating in my closet. Since It knows how to open the sliding doors by rubbing against them I decided to bind the doors shut by wrapping a long cord around the doorknobs so that the doors can't open.

One day I decided to shut the window and close the blinds since the stray would come around every day and I'd have enough of the screaming, only to find out the damn cat would scream if it couldn't look out the window! It continuously bashed against the blinds screaming so I splashed it with some water and it darted to the closet and started doing the same to the closet doors.

Finally, deciding I'd had enough of it I took my other two cats into my bedroom and kicked that cat out of my bedroom, the cat has been hiding under the couch and refusing to eat since, its been 2-3 days. The Internet seems to agree that this is a sign of impending doom and that a visit to the vet is needed but I don't have the care nor the money to take it to the vet. I'm convinced that the true reason my coworker was in such a rush to get rid of it is because it couldn't handle it. I'd like to get rid of it but I don't even know who to give it to. I need help.
