To make it a short story, the last pet we had apparently had a slight flea problem along with other problems. We live in an apartment with pretty cheap-looking vinyl "wood" flooring but we have area rugs and runners.
We haven't noticed an intense infestation. The only reason we noticed was because I gave the pet a bath and I saw about 4 fleas in the soapy water and one crawling on it. After that pet was gone, we cleaned up a little and did not have much of an issue because it was only here for one day. We didn't get bit,at least we didn't notice if we did. But my friend brought their pet over recently and I guess a flea jumped on it or from somewhere because she understandably freaked out that there was a flea on her furbaby, yes it was a flea...thankfully she didn't hold it against me because all of this started with an irresponsible human.
So just in case it was from our apartment, how do we make sure the fleas are gone? I've seen about Borax? What do we do about the rugs, our clothes, the bathroom, living room, couch, beds, stuffed animals, closet, etc? The pet that had the fleas had walked pretty much all over the apartment except our bedroom, once, but that was probably enough. We're looking into a vacuum,we have a smart vacuum but I don't think that has enough power.
