Hello all,
I have been trying to work with my very high-energy, attention-demanding kitten. She is now 7 months old.
Most of her destructive behaviors have slowly improved (she still occasionally tries to snatch food out of my hands), but she seems to have a serious problem with drinking water.
I have gotten her a water fountain thingy - she knocked it over and generally mistrusts it. I have given her fresh water at mealtimes, in heavy dishes, that she still manages to knock over. Alternatively, I have let her water sit around for a while too. I have put trays underneath her dishes - still spills water everywhere. The only water she truly seems to like is dirty dishwater from the occasional pots I leave to soak overnight.
Letting her have access to the kitchen sink is a big no-no for sanitary reasons (baby on the way, do not want her getting used to hanging out around surfaces where bottles will be drying, etc).
I am at my wits end. I live in a rental, and we're starting to get some serious water damage on the floor from her crazy habits.
Is there anything else I can try???
