Is it wrong to feed my dog once a day?

My pup is an Australian Cattle Dog, nearly three years old, and gets moderate exercise almost daily. All my friends that own dogs insist that twice a day is the "correct" way to feed a dog, an AM and PM meal, and they're shocked that I only feed her once a day. I actually transitioned her to feedings once a day, because when I would get up for work, and I'd feed her the AM meal, she'd take a bite or two, and then be done. Since doing one meal a day, she actually finishes all her food in one sitting. Is this "wrong" to do?

Her vet checkups have always been great. I've asked her vet about her weight (as she's on the smaller end of the breed scale, around 40lbs) and my vet assured me that she is a perfect weight.

P.S. I've been feeding her Acana Freshwater Fish in the warmer months and the Acana Red Meat in the cooler months.
