I’m dog-sitting for my parents (they’re going on vacation) for a few days. They got a new dog a few months ago and I only see here every now and then. Any tips for her to warm up to me so she’s not so shy the next few days?
She will take a treat when I place it on the floor and walk pretty far away. She will also eat and drink when I am far away. She will also go out back to do her business. As long as she can do these things, I’m totally fine. But I really want her to trust me.
She was abused by previous owners, so this is most likely the main reason for her being so scared/shy of new people. Any tips are greatly appreciated!
