Hey guys, we moved houses a few years back and have had a few issues with our neighbours.. I am probably not the best person to be living next too - as I love playing and making all kinds of music, and my creativity flows at night. I also have been a daily weed smoker for years - and between those two things I figured we’d let the dogs consistent yapping slide.. I thought maybe they’d train the dog.
I have stopped doing both of those things and have found the dog’s incessant barking to be a real problem I can no longer ignore. They have some designer dog and its the worst; I can’t even watch a video in my room on my phone without the dog hearing it and barking.
It happens all throughout the night and day at random intervals but the thing that pisses me off the most is that the owners will be sitting outside just ignoring the dog while it barks at every slight noise around it.
I had to get creative the first few times I realized the owners were sitting outside, I don’t have much respect for them - they are pretty shitty people (I can hear them talk from my bedroom, its hilarious) so I found that connecting my loud music speaker and opening YouTube to “Many Dogs Barking” drove the message across the first few times.
In the few years we have been here we have had multiple fosters and a new forever buddy - about 6 dogs total - and anytime they exhibited behaviours like barking we dealt with it within months..
These people aren’t even trying and thats what kills me the most. At this point I am considering getting a signed petition from every house that is around them essentially saying “Train yo fucking dog or we go to the council - sincerely your underslept neighbours”
I am at a loss for what else to do outside of a proper government complaint. The other option is to buy one of those anti-bark sonic things but i’m 22 and don’t have $150 to blow on someone elses animals.
Its driving me nuts, any suggestions? I will go as low and petty as needed without hurting anyone.
