Hi all,
I want to switch my cat from his current cat food, but I'm not sure how. Here's some background:
I'm 23 and was able to move my cat (15 years old) from my parents' place to my new place a few weeks ago. My parents fed him low-grade cat food his entire life (think Purina cat chow and the like) and that's what I bought him to help make him feel more comfortable in his new environment.
I want to start providing him with a better cat food but I'm afraid he'll either not eat it or will get sick from it since he's never had food of high quality before. When I took him to the vet about a week before our move (one of the first times he's gone - I'll be sure to bring him in again in a couple of months for a check-up and more vaccinations), the vet was shocked by how active and healthy he is for his age. It seems he's healthy despite his diet.
Does anyone have suggestions for changing his food to something better? A part of me wonders if I should let him live the rest of his days eating what he's comfortable with.
Thanks in advance! Also appreciate any food recommendations if you think I should switch him to something better 😁
