If you have a moment, I could use some help.

Alright its been about 4 months since I adopted my dog. There never really was information about his past, so when he was so skittish around everyone assumed it wasn't good. I was willing to work with that as is. Up to this point, it seems like the dog tolerates me at best, but doesn't like me. Now I figured this was just the path of progress, but he absolutely loves everyone else that comes to see him. He gets excited and jumpy and friendly to everyone of every height/weight/build, but when he sees me he keeps his distance. He may get excited for food but won't approach me until I've filled the bowl. He gets very excited to play fetch but won't bring the ball to or even close to me so I have to get it. I can't take him on walks because as soon as I grab the leash he flips out and does everything he can to get away from me, but, save for the walking part, this attitude is reserved for exclusively me. I just have no idea what to do to make this better. Any advice?
