Newly Spayed 6mo female: where should I put her while I'm away?

Hey, so my female Zelda, a pretty little Calico, just got spayed yesterday (9/25). She was fixed as a "feral" cat since when I booked this appointment she was still feral. Her ear was clipped and her stitches are not visible. The doctor said she could go outside with in a day or two. Well she's no longer an outdoor cat (and hasn't been for 2 months).

She is having the worst time with the Cone of Shame, exclusive walking backwards. I had her sleep in a medium-ish size crate last night and I'm apprehensive to leave her in the cage for 13 hours while I'm in class today. I do have a bathroom that I cat proofed, but even yesterday she was jumping and climbing around.

Apart of me figures she'll be fine in the bathroom as long as the cone is on since cats are pretty good about knowing their limits. I do know I don't want her to just wander around the house because we do have other pets.

**I am trying to get a dog crate right now but my roommate'a dog destroyed my old one. She said she'd replace it soon.

What should I do? Am I just worrying too much?
