My partner and I adopted a stray a year and a half ago who is the sweetest most loving little thing we have ever met. However, he is extremely clingy and playful and we as well as his ex foster mom at the rescue feel that he would benefit from a new kitten as a playmate and we can afford to rescue another.
However, I currently love how insanely cuddly he is and how he focuses all his attention on us. I love that when I sit on the couch he’s in my lap or playing with me or always sitting around me. He also shares my pillow with me.
Basically this is selfish but I’m scared that once we get another kitten he won’t spend time with us anymore or be as attached because he will bond with the kitten. I’ve had a lot of cats during my life but they’ve been the only cat in the house so having two is a new experience for me.
For those of you who introduced a second cat, did it change your relationship with the first cat?
