Hi all i'm new to pet ownership. Got a well looked after 10 year old Maltese Shihtzu male dog from an owner that had to give him up.
A couple of questions

Sometimes (twice a week or so) in the evening he gets stomach gurgling which goes on for hours. He doesn't seem uncomfortable wondering if there is anything wrong with him. We keep his diet super bland with nothing too extreme usually just cooked mince with rice or peas / frozen veggies through it. Usually in the evenings (overnight).

Also everyday (multiple times) a day usually when he is settling down for naps or getting cosy he likes his lips a billion times like he has a hair stuck on his tongue. It is beyond annoying and i physically can't stand being in the room when he is like this.
Any thoughts on what the hell might be wrong with him (if anything). He is quite anxious for a dog (no neglect just shy).
