My cat is 5-years old neutered male from a shelter
When I adopted my cat (shelter cat, he's still a bit nervous when we walk around him, but otherwise extremely loving), they told me to feed him on a schedule, twice a day. I give him 1/4 cup dry food, and 1/4 large can. I've been doing that so far, but I noticed that sometimes he hisses at me while I'm preparing his food. This led me to do some research, and realize that maybe he does that because he's hangry.
Then I started reading about meal feeding vs. free feeding, and all the opinions for and against both. I was, therefore, hoping to get some opinions from this community, and hopefully personal experiences with your own cats.
How does Reddit feel about free feeding, but with the use of a puzzle for dry food (such as this one), and still feeding wet food on a schedule, vs. only feeding on a schedule?
Thanks!
