We have a male cat who, over the past 4 months, has been losing weight and his appetite. We had him checked twice, the second time the vet told us that she suspects that he may have intestinal lymphoma since she felt lumps in his gut, but we never got a confirmation since we couldn't afford the PET scan she recommended (we apparently don' have pet insurance) and my dad feared that she'll recommend chemo therapy immediately after (my family doesn't believe in chemo therapy working). She gave him a couple of weeks.
That was last month. Since then, my brother's girlfriend has found a "homeopathic supplement" called Celloquent and we've been mixing it into his food ever since. He's been eating more frequently and even gained a pound about two weeks ago, only to possibly lose that pound. As of yesterday, he's not eating as frequently as he used to and, as I noticed on Friday, he's having trouble pooping. I also noticed that he's trying to hide himself more.
He's skinny to the point that you can feel his back and ribs. He's still very alert, but I don't know for how long. He's only 9.
I'm not really asking for advice. I just wanted to get this off my chest.
