I’m cat sitting for a friend’s cat. I was warned to close the door when I clean the litter box as the cat gets territorial. However, what is happening is the cat is waiting outside the door of the room with the litter box (the bathroom) and is hissing at me when I leave. Once she jumped on me and was clawing me too. This has made me afraid to go near her litter box, but I still need to clean it.
Any advice? I’ve watched cats for a few weeks before, but have never had this specific issue.
