ESA advice

hey! So I am a 19 y.o female, I live in an apartment and am diagnosed with PTSD. I manage it very well. I get through the day completely fine but I cannot sleep alone. I tend to have panic attacks and spiral late at night. I have a cat ESA I adopted back in April but he is a very sick boy :( he has been my reason for staying alive this long. He’s incredibly docile. He loves being carried around/cuddled and is the sweetest cat I’ve ever had. He gets so excited to see me and loves literally everyone. He’s fully grown and barely reaches 4 pounds. We had to take him to an overnight vet for liver disease last night and it doesn’t look like he’s gonna make it much longer. I want to make it clear that I would never ever try to replace my boy....and I have absolutely not given up hope for him but I’m afraid I won’t be able to stay stable without someone there for me in the middle of the night. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what breeds of cats/dogs are best to look into for a pet who would be most comfortable with my living situation and my personality. Thank you so much!
