We have a young cat ( less than a year) that we adopted so she could avoid being abandoned outside, and yesterday we unexpectedly acquired another cat ( approx 3) to avoid her being left out in the cold. Both are female, older one is fixed, younger one is not. It has only been a day so I am not in a huge rush to get them cuddling or anything, but Whiskers (the older) has claimed upstairs ( which Maisie is very unhappy about) and we have to keep doors between them so I'd like it if I could at least stop them fighting. They got in a scrape today so I am looking for advice to avoid future confrontation without having to keep the cats closed off from one another. Thanks.
