Brother wants me to take care of his guinea pig because he doesn't want it in his room anymore. I want to save up for my own hamster instead.

I feel like this is a little unfair. His guinea pig is also alone and he and his gf didn't properly prepare to keep a guinea pig. He hands me stuff he doesn't want and I'm mad that he's asking me to keep his pet in my room now that he's having a kid. It won't be my pet and it hurts that I can't have something that's completely mine. I wanted to prepare stuff to get for a hamster so that I'm prepared and have the nicest enclosure for a hamster. There's only space in my room for 1 pet. I feel so guilty because the guinea pig is on a cage on the floor in the hallway because my bro doesn't have enough space. Why do I have to have a pet that isn't mine because of his mistake? I don't want to get attached to a pet that isn't mine. What the heck should I do? How do I knock sense into him so he takes better care of his guinea pig? I really want a hamster in the future and guinea pigs are very different from hamsters.
