[FLUFF] Wholesome story about my dog

In 2017 I was bought an Irish Setter as a gift. I had always been in love with the breed since I saw a painted image of of them on an old wood burning stove. That was all I needed. I didn’t even look into the breed as a whole until after I got him. (That was stupid I know) Active. Outgoing. Sweet-Natured. That is how the breed is described, and that is exactly how Teddy was. My own Teddy Monster. He was a pain in the butt sometimes but honestly one of the easiest dogs to train. He always wants to be with me. He’s gentle. A total goofball. He loves spaghetti, the dog park and ice cream. He absolutely loves everyone and everything, they’re all his friends.

On Christmas day my now husband and I were walking him and one of our other dogs first thing in the morning as we always do. It was quiet and calm. Suddenly this big black dog runs up out of no where. Now I know not all dogs are dog friendly, so I put Teddy into a heel and sat him down. The dog sniffed and everything seemed okay until he latched on to my arm. No warning, nothing at all. Wagging tail then he attacked me. Teddy immediately springs into action and goes after the dog. My poor husband is just totally confused on what to do since he has our other dog on a lead. He tries to tie her up to a nearby tree while this dog is still got ahold of me and Teddy tries to take him down. Teddy finally gets the dog off of me, and out of no where this kid comes bolting towards the dog, takes it down, then just, leaves with it. Doesn’t say a single word, just leaves. It wasn’t until we got back upstairs that we got to see how bad my bites were. I had to spend the day in the ER getting seen and rabies vaccinated. It was a crappy way to start Christmas, but I learned my boy is a not just a good boy but a great boy.

I later learned that this was probably one of the strangest things for an Irish Setter to, because of their personality. It’s not in them to attack for any reason, but my boy did. He is my protector. Ever since that day I have him with me always. He warns me of anything. I no longer have to worry if he would protect me in the case of an emergency. He just turned 4 on 03/12.
