Going to foster a cat for a few weeks. HELP!

Hi! I live in a studio apartment alone and called a welfare centre to ask if I could foster a cat cos coronavirus and WFH and global lockdown and loneliness. I am panicking because I've never done this before but I want to.

I'm on the 11th floor of a really nice residential building. I'm desperately trying to catproof my place. I have a nice balcony with large railings. (No entry allowed for him right?) I also have those DIY assembly bookshelves and shelves with rods and cloth. I also have a wooden table and bench. I have a few delivery boxes for him to chill in. I have spare bowls to feed him in. I have some clay pots in which he can chill if he wants to. I have a wicket laundry basket. I have a ton of small things like keychains, and have loads of papers. I can procure cat food both dry and wet. I can feed him eggs and veggies as well. I'll be going for a supermarket run about two hours before he comes home.

Please recommend or suggest anything. I want to give him a good home and life atleast temporarily and not do anything to hurt harm him.

I am willing to put in the extra time in helping him adjust. And clean up after him. I have to buy a litter box and get sand. And get some toilet paper/tissue rolls to clean up after him and rags for him to be comfy. I have a very mild smelling floor cleaner that is pet safe.

Sorry about the formatting and crazy language.

Alternatively I have the option of fostering a dog as well. I'm confused but want to help take care of someone personally.
