Can a dog live a regular life for months with a partial obstruction?

I’m not sure exactly where to post this so I came here. My 6 year old Pomeranian is currently staying overnight at a local vet hospital. I woke up this morning to bloody diarrhea which has happened before 2 times in the past 6 months. My regular vet has told me to wait 24 hours so I normally would, but this time it was accompanied with vomiting. I took her to my usual vet around 4pm and they gave her an anti-nausea shot and some antibiotics. She continued to vomit, poop a jelly/mucus-like consistency of blood every half hour, wouldn’t eat, and I couldn’t get her to swallow the antibiotics. My regular vet didn’t pick up the emergency phone line so I took her to the other vet in town at 11pm and they immediately did xrays and blood work (which I feel my regular vet should’ve done already considering her bloody stool on 2 previous occasions). There was a small “metal-like” obstruction in her intestines. Is it possible her other 2 bouts of bloody diarrhea over the past 6 months could’ve been caused by the same obstruction? Is it possible she’s had this metal object in her intestines all this time? It’s not typical for her to pick up objects off the ground or floor unless they’re food so I highly doubt it’s possible for each bloody diarrhea instance to be from 3 different obstructions.

Thanks for anyone responses in advance.

Edit: I do remember seeing a very plasticy material rope toy on the floor she had been possibly playing with over the weekend with my boyfriends dog. I’m not 100% sure they both were playing with it since I didn’t witness them in the act, but I’m beginning to think that may be a possible culprit (although there is nothing metal on it). My boyfriends dog threw up in the middle of night after I saw the toy, but has been fine since. This still doesn’t explain her past bouts with bloody diarrhea and I haven’t seen her with this specific toy in years (She has a toy box and has free reign- Im thinking it’s time to clear the old ones out regardless of what the obstruction could be from).
