One of my neighbors apparently has a very scared cat. Sometime this morning, the cat crawled up into my housemate’s car engine and has refused to come out all day. The neighbor tried reaching in to pull the cat out, but it’s inaccessible from the top and the car is too low to the ground to get underneath. They’ve set a trap/cage near the car with wet cat food and a bowl of water to coax her out. They even tried pouring some water on her to convince her to leave with no luck. Animal control stopped by but had no other advice to offer. We’re now in the hottest part of the day here (100+ F) and I’m worried about the cat overheating. Does anyone else have any other ideas to try?
