I adopted a kitten (10wks) and my resident cat (3yr) hates me
I recently adopted a 10 week old male kitten, Kylo. I’ve had my current cat, Oliver, for three years. I’ve had Kylo for 4 days now and anytime I go near Oliver he hisses at me and will sometimes swat at me. Prior to getting Kylo, Oliver has never been aggressive towards me or my family. I know it can take a few weeks to a month for the transition period to complete but I honestly miss Oliver. I can’t help but feel like he hates me and wants nothing to do with me now that I’ve adopted Kylo. I’m seeking advice from anyone who might know what I can do to make Oliver more comfortable and if/when this phase will pass and he will soon be less aggressive towards me and return to his old personality of being a lovebug.
