My girl is going to be 12 in a few months, and I notice she’s been a bit more of a grumpus the last year or so. She gets checked over regularly and she’s perfectly healthy, and her attitude is still not particularly bad, it’s just different than it used to be. Fine, whatever, no big deal. We all get old.
But I’ve also noticed recently that she’s a lot more likely to get irritated about being picked up or moved around than she used to be. Basically I can pick her up, but I have to keep her in the same position the whole time or she gets fed up, which is extremely different from the past. I figure that this is likely just about age and maybe it’s uncomfortable for her, and since realizing this I’m going to be more conscientious of what I do, but all I’m really asking is, is this a common thing that people see with aging cats? I’d just like to hear some other experiences to ease my worry lol
