Has any of you hidden a pet in a rental, got found out, landlord ordered you to get rid of the pet, then you lie that you rehomed the pet, but in reality kept hiding it?

My friend is doing this to his guinea pigs =[ I think it’s a bit too risky right? I offer to house his pigs at least a little bit before the things dies down, but he said I’m too careful.
