Hi all!
I have a 4 year old pit/heeler that has absolutely zero interest in any of her dog toys. We've gotten her plushies with and w/o squeakers, the rubber ones with and w/o squeakers, rope toys, you name it! She could not care less.
What she does love is cardboard boxes and pens and a wooden back scratcher. I have no idea how to get her interested in chewing dog toys and not chewing household stuff. It's not so much a problem with her destroying things but rather I don't want her to get sick from eating that stuff. And I just feel bad that she's not allowed to play with the things she wants to play with. The only thing she's ever shown interest in is a kong, but I don't let her play with it much because she only chews it on the carpet and the sheer amount of dog saliva she produces (I’m assuming bc of the treat?) soaks the carpet.
I'm really willing to try anything, so any recommendations would be much appreciated. TIA!
