Obese, snoring labrador.

I have a 3 year old labrador and she is obese. i live with my grandparents and mum. only my papa and i can take her out on walks and we have her on a diet and we take her out every day but she isn’t losing weight. i’m not always around to walk her so it’s sometimes left to my papa to do it but he isn’t as fit as he used to be and i feel like she isn’t getting the amount of walking she needs. another issue is my nana doesn’t understand, no matter how much we tell her, that it’s not okay to feed her small treats from her plate.

her snoring keeps me up every night and it’s extremely difficult to get to sleep. i’ve tried moving her to different rooms but i can hear the snoring no matter where she is in the house. i cant put her downstairs as she barks and cries which is just as bad as the snoring.

i’m worried that this is going to affect me when i start college next month and i don’t know what to do. we’re taking her to the vet for tips on how to help her lose weight but i know that she won’t be snore free in time for me starting college. i know this all probably sounds selfish but this has badly affected my mental health and i end up sleeping most of the day. i’ve always been a dog person and i love her so much and i only want to see her happy and healthy but it’s difficult to be positive enough when it’s 4:35am and i need to be up in less than 4 hours.

i feel that she would be much happier and healthier if she was with a family who could give her exactly what she needs since my grandparents are very old and i won’t be around to look after her when i start college. my family have already said that under no circumstance are they rehoming her.

i’m not sure why i’m posting this but i guess i just need some sort of advice.
