Hi, my cat needs ACL surgery. Is this common in cats? My vet said it was very uncommon, to the point that the surgeon "has never seen this before" in cats, though the surgeon she has in mind is apparently also a specialist? Not sure how that's possible?
How much should the surgery cost? the price suddenly went from $3500 to $5000 over the course of a day - they saw my cat yesterday and said they would get back to me today before the afternoon but I had to call them at 3:30 pm- plus the receptionist really pressured me to do it on very little information - no idea what the surgery entails, care required, etc. I just got off the phone with the receptionist, the vet herself hasn't gotten around to speaking with me about the procedure (though she did get around to charging me $1500 more than originally quoted without so much as speaking to me herself, or the surgeon getting back to me as promised.)
anyway I'm getting a sketchy vibe or am i being paranoid?
