Using peppermint shampoo mixture on dog for fleas

We found a large flea on my dog today, and after combing through with our fingers and finding what looks like flea dirt (and possibly at least one other flea), we took her to the tub for damage control. I was reading a bit about what fleas don’t like, and I had some Dr Bronner’s peppermint Castile soap on hand. I mixed that, some dish soap, and her usual Oster (I think?) oat shampoo that’s never given her problems. I mixed some of each together (using less of the peppermint) and took some of that mixture mixed with water to soap her up. I left it on and combed really well through her fur with the finest comb I have, and rinsed her off and also applied some coconut oil. This is just to kill what I can on her until I can get a seresto flea collar. But now I’m worried if everything I read was somehow wrong and one or all of these things were bad to put on her. I have awful anxiety when it comes to making sure my dog is okay, so I was just wondering if anyone had insight. Thank you!
