My roommate and I want to get a pet snail. We want to keep a single snail since we cannot afford a bunch of snail grandchildren. We read that some snails are hermaphrodites and others are capable of asexual reproduction. We have also read that most land snails are hermaphrodites and cannot breed without sperm. Are there any land snail breeds that can’t asexually reproduce? We will check for eggs of course but just don’t want to end up with a bunch of snails if we miss a clutch of eggs.
Thank you, any help or other tips for snail keeping are appreciated.
Any Revolutionary War themed names are appreciated as well.
