Does anyone have a pet cat that never bit or scratched them?

I’m thinking of getting a cat. I’ve never had a pet cat before so I’d really appreciate it if someone could enlighten me. I know I should take it in when it’s a kitten so it gets to know me, but should I absolutely expect to be bitten and/or scratched? What are the chances of getting an infection?
