How long before I leave my dog with my cat

We have a kitten, got her 2 days ago and she's 8 weeks old I'm wondering when I can leave the dog and kitten in the same room alone.

My dog is a wimp, a big ball of fluff, never seen her get aggressive and she's wonderful with my 2 year old son even anything she's a little timid because she had to out up with the baby stage when she was a puppy herself. All she tries to do is play with the cat and chase her, tail going crazy, but I've even seen her go up to the cat and cuddle into her and lick her, while the cat tries to play with her tail.

For the record, the dogs a king Charles x cocker spaniel
