First off, I'd totally own up to this situation if I knew he was doing this. Another thing, because I feel like this might be brought up, he's definitely meant to be an outdoor cat. I truly wish he was an indoor cat, because that was my plan in the first place, but since letting him outside his behaviour has been 100% better.
This is my first cat (as an adult) and his name is Cloud, he's 9 months old, fixed, and has never exhibited these behaviors. He's never had an accident in the house, except for one diarrhea incident after he was fixed, on antibiotics and was sleeping with me locked in my room one night, but I don't blame him for that. Since I've had him at 8 weeks, he's always really anal about using the litter box, and one of the first of his litter mates to start using it. When he's outside, we've seen him pee, but never on our furniture and he's super anal about burying it. Even when my dog pees or poops outside, cloud looks at him in disgust as he tries to bury it.
My neighbours concern is that he's hanging out on her outside furniture and some of her family members are allergic. Which I totally understand, so I offered to buy her a cat deterrent spray for her furniture, because I don't want my cat to cause her family discomfort hanging out in their own yard. The thing I'm not really believing, and defended cloud on, is that he's peeing all over the furniture. She's never seen him actually pee on it, but he does hang out on it. From what I've seen, he's not territorial either.
I'll accept any facts you throw at me because at this point the "is he or isn't he" question is killing me, and I'm still a new cat owner. My big question is: is this possible? From what I've seen of his behaviour around his bowel movements and the fact that he's fixed and didn't learn to spray, will he still pee on other people's furniture?
Thanks in advance!
