This really sucks. My dog was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in June. I took care of her for a week and she started feeling better. Walking, eating, barking, and jumping. My mom took her to the vet last month and they said we would need to put her down soon due to the cancer. I told my mom that if she starts declining, then we have to put her down because I don’t want her to suffer. I received a text from my mom this morning that she refuses to eat, has been vomiting, and doesn’t get up from her bed.
It hurts me so much to go through with this, but I know it’s best.
We found her 10 years ago on the street and she’s been one of the sweetest dogs I have ever had. I feel horrible putting her down but I’ve been mentally preparing for it. I just feel horrible because my other dog is going to lose her companion, my family is going to lose a pet, and I feel I could’ve done more for her.
I’m just ranting at this point, but any tips on getting through this time would be great.
