Hi there!
My Cat Morticia(4 years/fixed/female) and I moved in around May to a new household with my roomies 2 resident cats who are Arthur (13 years/fixed/male) and Tyga (7 years/unfixed/male).
We messed up the first introduction because it was way too fast and attributable to me overestimating Morticias confidence. She’s my first cat and I had got her in February when I live alone w no other pets. She was very sweet and great with people.
We restarted the reintroduction process properly with a baby gate in about jun after a pattern of escalating aggression between the cats. Arthur and Morticia had one weird ass incident when he swatted and attacked her while sleeping. Whereas Tyga had been ritually stalking and picking fights before w Arthur and has gone on to replicate that behaviour w Morticia even attacking her while eating. She has peed herself multiple times during her and Tygas altercations.
She has made habit of hiding and not even going out of my room when the boys are confined. She’s wholly comfortable in my room where Tyga has jumped the gate to get in. When we reach the stage of surpervising hangouts it’s hiss fest from Morticia and Tyga will then pounce and we make sure to catch him everytime its here we go again to stage one. She’ll even hiss in a carrier.
Some additional notes, Morticia will now hiss at Tyga and Arthur’s owner where previously she was otherwise friendly to other people when I got her. Tyga scarfs down his food so consistently and pushes off Arthur from his meals so we separate him every feeding. He does not seem to care for eating by Morticias door as reintroduction instructs. Morticia and Arthur when in the same space maintain civility and the worst that happens is a hiss or two from her.
Any advice it’s now near November and I just want to be able to play and hang out w my cat and new found friends around the home.
Ps. I have considered an anxiety issues for Morticia and the unneutered factor for Tyga (he’s not my cat not my prerogative& I have brought it up and nothings been done) but medicating her is really nerve wracking for me ironically.
