I have a 2 month old cat that I've had for 3 days and it does this thing where it meows and when I get closer it runs away and then it runs back to me and when I try to get close it runs away again. I don't think its scared of me because it's fine with approaching me to sleep/lay down on my lap. I don't think it's hungry either since it knows where its food bowl is and it mostly just runs away under the couch or behind the leg of a table and not to the food bowl. Why is it doing this?
