question about adopting a kitty

so i want to adopt a cat. preferably a senior that is calm and just wants cuddles and attention and is quiet. my question is this. so i just bought a house and am redoing the place. the master bedroom and bathroom are going to be redone before i move in but i’m taking my time with the rest of the house. do you think my future cat will mind if i have some of the carpet in the other parts of the house ripped up. i don’t know what it is underneath but i just dont want him/her to be stressed. do you think the cat will be okay to live with me in my house while i’m remodeling as long as he/she can sleep in the nice redone room with me? might be a stupid question but i want to be a good cat parent
