I went into the shelter to adopt a second cat. My original cat is an orange tabby, 8 year old male. I went in looking for a 1-3 year old male.
At the shelter, There was a 6 year old orange tabby that is tough. Hissed at first. But once I got into his cage he loved my pets. Rolled over and gave me his belly. The shelter employee told me he's been there for months... Only the second person he's appeared to like. He was still super nervous/anxious as I had him out of the cage a couple times. Nervous hissing...
So he's not what I was looking for. But my pets sure had him happy and purring. Multiple employees told me that he is definitely my cat. And that I need to get him. I'm worried about him changing my home dynamic, as well as not knowing if he will be a great cat, or kinda mean. No kids or dogs at home, just me and my 8yr old cat. Is this the cat for me?
