A few months ago i got a dog and i live in an area where ticks seem to be a big problem and winter this year really takes his sweet time with getting cold enough. Unfortunately the problem is not my dog having the ticks biting him (which happens aswell of course) but the dog bringing the ticks inside and then “transferring” them to me. Twice now i had a tick almost attach to my hand right out in the open! Once i woke up, turned around and there was one of those little bastards strutting around on my bed like he owned it! I am quite worried about the diseases they carry and would really like to avoid those damn ticks so if anyone has some advice on how to solve this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
Before you ask, i am trying to teach the dog to not sleep in my bed but even though he starts the night in his own bed whenever i wake up he has migrated to mine... still i would like to be able to touch my dog without worrying about those pesky parasites.
My vet tells me the collars and other tinctures and stuff are bad for the dog so i don’t really know what to do in that regard.
Cheers
