Basically I rescued a kitten with a broken pelvis a month ago and thought it’d be nice to adopt her since I really gotten used to her being around. I also thought it would be a nice idea to get her to be friends with my older cat to get her to play since she doesn’t really play much and isn’t that active.
Problem is I tried introducing them in a good way done my research, introduced the kitten’s scent put their food bowls at the end of each door so whenever they eat they smell each other, then I tried to actually introduce them but my cat would hiss and try to fight and didn’t really like the kitten at all, even her scent would make her mad.
It’s gotten a bit better my older cat started stalking her would hiss occasionally not as much and is kind of ok now but some fights broke out. I tried letting her sleep next to the kitten she hissed a bit then cooled off and slept with no problem so I just left them there and gave my cat treats but I still want her to be ok with the kitten and I don’t want to stress anymore about her hurting my kitty as I really don’t like the option of rehoming the kitten.
TLDR; basically I rescued a kitten and my cat clearly doesn’t like it I tried introducing them by scent and positive reinforcement but that didn’t work and I really need help.
