Should I adopt a kitten if I might not be able to be with him/her after a year or two for a few years?

I have been wanting to get a cat for years and I have been following an adoption centre for quiet some months. I am thinking of adopting one when a new one needs a home. I am 19(M) and I may go abroad for studies for a few years and if I adopt a kitten now, I might not be able to see the kitten for a few years or I might just take with me if I find a way.

But the problem is if I dont find a way to take the cat with me, I will probably be too emotionally invested to leave without the cat. And the cat might be distressed as well(?).

I am in a pretty bad mental health myself and I really feel like having a kitten around would do good to both.

Should I adopt a cat and risk having to leave without her? Idk I feel like I know the answer that I shouldnt adopt but my heart doesnt want to believe it. So, I want someone to confirm it for me. Please help.
